Hello Everyone,
How wonderful to see how you have responded. It was great to hear all the news from Adelaide from Francis!! Keep it up. Now it is up to those of you who have yet to "post" to 'get on line'!!
Claire - who is 'Tesso".?
Anyway here is the news for today::
Mumma Duffy has had her operation and it seems to have gone well. She is still in hospital and I think Monica is visiting her today on her way to Uni. A little birdie told me Monica got three high distinctions in her last exams!!
Bill is home today - after struggling through the weekend with the beginnings of the 'flu he has now succumbed and is tucked up in bed with his beanie on and waiting for his chicken noodle soup. He has lost his voice so don't phone him just yet. He is going to read the 'Blog' though!!
Ally has an interview for a higher position today. We are all hoping she wins the position (better pay will enable her to live within her means??) but she really enjoys the work she is doing
so I guess that is a great position to be in.
I am having a quiet week after hosting Sam and Bridget and Celeste and doing all the catch up housework. I am still doing a bit of on-line work for my project - just to keep in touch.
We will have our retirement plan to its next stage by the end of this week. Will post a version on here for you all to see. It involves being self-funded, owning our own unit and hopefully owning a Winnebago (of sorts) as well so we can come an spend some time with each of you. Life is exciting. We are still considering options to enable us to purchase the house we are currently in and spending a bit more time in Canberra and doing some part time consultancy work. THis op-tion involves winning tattslotto or selling shares in the house. We expect it to sell for just under $400,000 and we will have $160,000 to use as our deposit. It is my super that is being used to buy our unit at the Villa La Salle. We would need that money when we are ready to move into the unit. Anyone interested???
This weekend we are going to Sydney. Father Ted Cooper from Katherine is having his Diamond Jubilee and has asked Bill to read at his special mass. We will be staying with Brother Ken Gallagher (remember the cat??) at the MSC Drummoyne property. Should be a great weekend. Will also be catching up with Brother Bennet - he escorted Mum up to Darwin when she went up to get married in 1940.
Bridget and Rob are looking forward to moving into their new house in a week or two. I hope she and Rosie get on line and give you all their news.
Love to all
Gemma ann
